Basic

I. Initial Assessment

Control bleeding by direct pressure.
Apply pressure dressings or elevate as needed.
II. Focused History and Physical Exam
Identify mechanism of injury.
III. Ongoing Assessment
Monitor dressing and vital signs.
Be alert to change in mental status.
